Preparations for the ASEAN Public Communication & Reputation Forum (APCR) 2026 are gaining momentum, with several prominent figures confirming their attendance as speakers at the upcoming regional forum. The event is scheduled to take place from 2 to 4 December 2026 at the UMSU Auditorium in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
Among the confirmed speakers are the Mayor of Banda Aceh, Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal; the Chairman of the Medan State Administrative High Court, Dr. Disiplin F. Manao; and the Director of Operations and Institutional Relations at Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), Lalu Dodot Patria Ary.
The organizing committee will announce additional confirmed speakers on a weekly basis, along with the topics and strategic issues they will address during the three-day forum.
Strengthening Strategic Engagement
As part of the preparations, APCR Chairman Asmono Wikan, accompanied by APCR Executive Director Ayu Yulia Yang and APCR Communication Team Coordinator Fisena Hardiyanto, met with H.E. Nico Barito, Special Envoy of the President of Seychelles for ASEAN, in Jakarta on Monday, 19 October 2026.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on APCR’s vision, progress, and potential to strengthen trust, reputation, and cross-border collaboration within the ASEAN region. During the discussion, the APCR delegation also formally invited H.E. Nico Barito to speak at the forum.
Earlier, on Friday, 16 October 2026, Asmono Wikan and Ayu Yulia Yang visited the Jakarta residence of Dr. Disiplin F. Manao to personally extend an invitation for the event.
These high-level engagements reflect the organizing committee’s commitment to bringing together influential leaders and decision-makers from diverse sectors.
Connecting ASEAN Through Trust and Reputation
Initiated by PR INDONESIA, APCR 2026 centers around the theme: “Building Trust. Shaping Reputation. Connecting ASEAN.”
APCR Chairman Asmono Wikan emphasized that the forum is designed to be a catalyst for regional synergy rather than just a conventional industry gathering.
"We designed APCR not merely as a communication or public relations forum, but as a platform for exchanging ideas that can drive real collaboration among governments, business leaders, academics, and, of course, communication leaders across ASEAN," Wikan stated.
He further noted that the initiative has long-term objectives. "Moving forward, APCR will evolve into a sustainable ecosystem, rather than just an annual conference program."
Three Days, Three Strategic Pillars
To accommodate these multi-sectoral collaborations, the forum will feature three major programs:
Day 1 — Sumatra Public Communication & Reputation Forum: Focusing on leadership, institutional trust, regional reputation, and public communication.
Day 2 — ASEAN Business, Trust & Reputation Summit: Addressing energy, investment, infrastructure, connectivity, digital transformation, and regional economic growth.
Day 3 — ASEAN Knowledge, Trust & Reputation Forum: Exploring AI, disinformation, public trust measurement, institutional reputation, future leaders, and the APCR Awards.
Beyond panel discussions, APCR 2026 aims to foster meaningful connections, strategic partnerships, and long-term collaboration among government, business, academic, and communication leaders across ASEAN.
